Deluxe Surprise Bag

My box arrived today and I was really impressed by the amount of items I received. I ordered a light deluxe bag and, after looking at the colour selection, very much wish I had ordered medium. I am a light skinned brunette with green eyes and pink undertones in my skin. The light deluxe bag selection is definitely more suitable for fair skin tones with light hair colour.

Two Lipsticks in shades Macadamia and Lotus. Macadamia is, to be frank, an unflattering beige peach colour that doesn't suit my skin tone at all. Very much reminds of a 60's "mod" shade of lipstick. Lotus is better but still too much brown base to be really flattering on my lips. Macadamia isn't offered anymore, so I guess the remaining stock was slipped into the bags.

Two lip gloss in colours Tulip and Hyacinth. Tulip is beige gold nude and does nothing for me. Tulip looked more promising but the peachy gold tone doesn't work as well as I had hoped.

Eyeshadow Pallet Imperial Topaz - Absolutely beautiful and complimentary to my skin tone.

Blush Pallet Peony - The blush colour is ok but not best tone of pink for my skin. The highlight I will never use as it's basically white ice and much too cool.

The Radiance Boosting Face Palette in Light Gold - Again, these are colours better suited for fair skin tones. The all over gold highlighter would work for me, but the taupe bronzer is too light.

Lip liners colours in Cinnamon, Sepia and Light Nude. Sepia and light nude are better for fair skin, both wash me out. Cinnamon is the only colour truly suited to my skin tone.

Eyeliners in Copper Flame and Opal. Copper flame is a pretty red/brown but it looks like a lip liner colour, not something I would use on my eyes. Opal is the colour I see myself using with the eyeshadow pallet.

Over all, for $200 CDN the deluxe bag, for me, was a bit of a bust. I can't return anything either, which is a shame as half the items won't be used. The quality of the items is really good as is the packaging. If you are fair skinned or have light hair with lightly tanned skin, the light deluxe bag would be a good deal as all the colours are suitable. Otherwise, go for the medium.

Full disclosure: I have become a fan of Wayne Goss's makeup and brushes. I have a lot of other brands (almost all luxury)...but Goss's products are staples in my collection.

I ordered the LIGHT version of Wayne Goss's Deluxe Surprise Bag. My skin is very light to light/neutral (slightly on the golden side) and I have blue eyes.

I received:

1) 1 Contour/Bronzer in (not a surprise) LIGHT -- I own this already. It.makes me look HEALTHY--isn't that what we all want. I will be gifting this to a fair-light skin friend of mine...I don't need two. These pan sizes mean they will last well beyond the time when they will expire. :-)

2) 1 Weightless Veil Blush Palette in VIVID AZALEA (I am SO very excited about this one)--I own Coral Rose and I love the formula and was working up my courage to buy this vibrant color. Turns out it is perfect for my light skin tone when used with a light hand. The highlight is perfection on the skin--age/office appropriate. The blush color is a natural flush color on my skin--and I go for a "natural" look...this is spot on for me!

3) 1 Luxury Eye Palette in IMPERIAL TOPAZ -- I own this and will be gifting this extra one to someone else. You don't need a back up of a great palette with pans this size. I am so happy with mine, This is a perfect travel/office palette--it is very easy to apply--so hotel room mirrors are not a problem. The color is buildable and very wearable. LOVE IT.

4) 2 Lip Glosses: CHRYSANTHEMUM and HIBISCUS (these shimmer glosses are so so moisturizing and they feel great on the lips--I usually wear them along with liners) and I got two colors that I didn't have!--so excited about that

5) 2 Lipsticks: CARNATION and MAGNOLIA--I LIKE the formula--it is a nice creamy "true" lipstick consistency. Lipstick isn't my favorite thing...but I wear it when I want a more polished look. I got lucky and received colors I didn't have. I had Carnation on my wish list--both colors are great for my skin tone...so I am so happy to have received them. I prefer lip liner/gloss or balm combos these days...but am very happy to have these in my collection.

6) 3 Lip Liners: LIGHT NUDE, NATURAL BERRY and VINTAGE PINK. I already have the last two and have ordered Natural Berry twice in the past--so am THRILLED to have a back up to both of these. Formula wise...I have everything literally everything on the market and this is among my top 3 favorites. (Lisa Eldridge, VB and WG are my top three favorite formulas.)

7) 2 Eyeliners: DEEP AMETHYST and OBSIDIAN (I have both but don't care because these eyeliners are so amazing that I gave some as Christmas gifts last year! Both people raved about them--including my lash lady...who is a stickler about her eyeliners. She has even recommended it to some of her other clients.) My experience: I love the kohl application, it stays put, and I don't have a hard time getting it off (I don't use oil-based removers because of my eyelash extensions). Best of all possible worlds for me! I don't use any other eyeliners right now!

It is like Beautylish looked at my order history when they packaged this bundle...I know they didn't...but it was literally MADE for me!

I’ve never tried any of Wayne’s products.. I was quite happy with the number of products, the shades and that they followed the word medium accurately! I suggest you don’t choose the light bag unless you’re milky fair! ‘Cause the medium will suit even fair people and you won’t get any non-matching shades

I didn’t expect as many items as I received in this surprise bag and I love them all! Everything is wearable and perfect for my skin tone. I’d buy another except for fear of repeats, but I’m glad I ordered this one. ❤️ Wayne Goss does makeup products so well, can’t wait to use everything!

Super disappointed in this bag. I must have got a loser bag because mine is filled with seemingly random shades, including Deep Copper bronzer. I'm like Casper the ghost with respect to my complexion complexion, so receiving this in my bag was a huge disappointment. Would definitely not recommend this bag, especially since the lead you on by being able to choose your complexion, but then send you whatever they want and state because they can since it is not refundable or exchangeable. And I triple checked that I did in fact select the LIGHT bag, but was still given the darkest bronzer shade. Save your money and put it to better use elsewhere. At least with the Charlotte Tilbury bags on her website you can get a refund if you get a crappy box. Now I am just stuck with unusable products for $239 Canadian. This is terrible and I would give less than 1 star if possible.

So glad and happy I got this! Some items I already have but that is ok, since this is a surprise bag so I do expect this!! I got the gorgeous imperial topaz eye palette (which I already have, but super happy to now have a back up), the blush peony blush palette, the satin bronze radiance booster face palette, walnut & carnation lipsticks, petunia & hyacinth high glosses, copper flame (which I have as well) & rich hazel eyeliners, & medium nude, mauve (already have) & natural berry (have as well). Every shade is perfect for me and I love every single item!

Total value of items which are new to me is slightly more than usd200, and another ~usd100 worth of back up items. And this made me truly thankful and so so so happy! Thank you Nia for packing my special surprise bag for me! Thank you Wayne & Beautylish! Looking forward to more surprise bags!

I have been wanting to buy products by Wayne Goss for a long time, so after watching Amanda on Makeup.Just.For.Fun review this box, I didn't hesitate to buy it. I am so blown away at the amount of beautiful products I received in this Mystery Box! What an amazing Christmas gift from Wayne, thank you so much. HIGHLY RECOMMEND as I know all of the products are exceptional. There are over $300.00 worth of products in this box!

I bought the Deluxe Surprise bag in Medium. Since I have all of Wayne's eyeshadow, blush and radiance palettes, I was expecting to get back up copies. I opened my box and found a delightful assortment valued at a little over $300. There was a Peony blush palette, Bronze radiance, and Imperial Topaz eye shadow! I received 2 lip glosses, 2 lip cremes, 3 lip pencils and 2 eyeliner pencils. I could not be happier. Thank you Beautylish. As always, everything was packed with care.

So, I am satisfied overall. I was happy with what I got but I am extremely disappointed in the face palette. There needs to be more shades for darker skin tones for the face palette. It looks like a plain face powder on me rather than contouring- and I am speaking for both shades. I am disappointed and feel Wayne can do much better than that.

Was impressed with my Delux Suprise bag . 3 pallets ,2 eye liners ,3 lip liners ,2 lipsticks, 2 ,lip glosses . All came well packaged. Best non liquid eyeliner I've ever used !!Haven't used another eyeshadow pallet since I got this one. Was happy to receive bronzer that fits my skin tone. Pretty new to it. Absolutely no complaints about the formula. Two pallets are really hard to open. Hoping that will change with use.
