Frequently Asked Questions
I have acne-prone or oily skin. Can I use Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA?

If your up for the challenge to figure out your own customized routine you can make a potent serum cocktail at a fraction of the cost of what the luxury brands tell you have to pay for something that works.
I love The Ordinary. Their products are exactly as advertised or lack there of...effective and inexpensive. I was using a serum that was $100/oz. in the morning and a serum/oil that was also $100/oz. in the evening and it was good but was not addressing all of my concerns, not to mention I was buying new bottles once every two months. Now for less than $100 I am able to address all of my concerns and I can see my supply lasting me at least 4 months.
I will admit in the beginning it's tough to figure out but with a lot of consideration after reading both The Ordinary's website and calling Beautylish's customer service number I was able to figure out my custom regimen for my 32 year old skin with concerns around aging(wrinkles), mild breakouts, undereye dark circles and hyperpigmentation. Morning: 1.)cleanse(Sunday Riley) 2.)toning mist (Jurlique) 3.)Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG 4.)Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 5.)The Buffet 6.)Matrixyl 10% + HA 7.)Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA then I apply my makeup. I can feel my skin tighten as it plumps any lines for smooth skin before I apply my primer. Evening: 1.)Remove makeup with cleansing balm (Sunday Riley) 2.)cleanse (Sunday Riley) 3.)Gel toner(Sunday Riley) 4.)Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG 5.)Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA 6.)Every other night I switch between Advanced Retinoid 2% and Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% 7.)Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 8.)Moisturize (Sunday Riley) 9.) 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil. I wake up so moisturized and my skin feels like as if it is brand new skin. It honestly freaks me out how smooth it is!
I know it seems like a lot but I am serious about keeping my skin healthy and youthful so I can avoid surgical or harsh procedures as long as I can. So if your in for a little bit of effort to figure out your routine you can make your own customized and potent serum cocktail at a fraction of the cost of what the luxury brands tell you have to pay for something that works.

I ordered this originally from Deciem but recently ordered 2 backups from Beautylish. I have oily skin and have always struggled with finding a moisturizer that wouldn't break my skin out or dry it out with a "mattifying" claim. This moisturizer is the best for my skin I've tried!! It doesn't break me out or just sit on my skin, it absorbs nicely and I use quite a bit under makeup to keep my makeup from settling in my fine lines with no problem. Fabulous price aside, I would still buy this moisturizer no question! For PM, I follow with a few drops of the Squalane from The Ordinary and I wake up with wonderfully hydrated (but not broken out) skin.

This moisturizer is unlike anything I've tried before. It's super rich & moisturizing, but sinks into the skin so fast. It's perfect for using before makeup because it sinks in without feeling greasy or oily. Almost everything I've tried from The Ordinary line I've absolutely fallen in love with. The line is quickly replacing all other skincare in my life. Highly recommend. (Tip: warm it up in your hands before applying on the face, as it is so thick it can be hard to rub in)

Feels wonderful on application but dries down and leaves my skin feeling no different that I had to go back and use my regular moisturiser. I think this is more for normal and oily skin types. Overall The Ordinary products are amazing and I have swapped many products from my regular routine but this is not one of them.

I found the Ordinary's NMF Cream a few weeks ago & it's like magic! I've been applying it twice a day along with the Ordinary's Buffet Serum & Rose Hip Seed Oil & this combination of products keeps my skin hydrated & looking healthy all day & night. A little really goes a long way & it doesn't feel heavy, it performs beautifully under makeup & it absorbs quickly & completely. I swear by this product & even though I still have plenty left in the tube I'm on here to order 2 backups because I don't ever want to be without this miracle cream.

The Ordinary products are excellent for anyone who is just starting a skincare regimen like my daughter. She also had a consultation with a Beauty Advisor which really helped her figure out what her specific skin care needs were. That way she wasn't buying a whole bunch of products that she didn't need. She received Natural Moisturizing Factors which is a light but very hydrating moisturizer. The Plant Derived Squalane which will not settle in or clog your pores but helps to lock in moisture to your skin. When she used The High-Adherence Silicone Primer she did not realize that it would make such a difference to her makeup application. Which was flawless, also it gave her the matte finish that she likes .The Glycolic Acid Toner, The Buffet & all of which we will do a separate review for. They are so reasonably priced that even a Student on a budget can finally afford skin care benefits that some luxury products provide. :)

I have used both high-end and drug store products and this is the combo of both. High end quality but drug store price. It is not greasy, but soaks into the skin and has little to no smell. I have normal to oily skin and I use this am and pm.

This is the last product I apply before applying my makeup, and I swear this quenches my skins thirst while making my makeup application smoother. Light weight without fragrance. I do use a lot so I will need to buy more backup tubes because I can see myself going through this rather quickly.

I am so delighted with these products- I broke a cardinal rule and used four of them at once- and my skin is soft and bright and happy. I will be dumping my high priced skin care routine and switching to the Ordinary. This absorbs well and my skin is happy - and I can add a little primrose or argon oil for extra love now and again.
