Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F is an oil-based serum with essential fatty acids and a stable form of vitamin C.
This treatment brightens and hydrates the skin and visibly reduces the signs of aging. It improves fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven tone while promoting a smooth, radiant appearance.
Apply a few drops to your face in the morning and at night after toners and water-based treatments.
When choosing a vitamin C product, consider your skin type, your routine, and your preferred formula texture. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F is great for dry or dehydrated skin types who prefer a lightly hydrating, oil-based formula.
This product contains a non-irritating form of vitamin C in a lightweight oil base, so it works especially well with dry or dehydrated skin.
You can apply it twice per day, once in the morning and once at night. If you are new to vitamin C products or have sensitive skin, we recommend starting with once per day.
Apply it to cleansed skin after toners and water-based treatments in the morning and/or at night.
COCONUT ALKANES, TETRAHEXYLDECYL ASCORBATE, ETHYL LINOLEATE, COCO-CAPRYLATE/CAPRATE, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM (TOMATO) FRUIT EXTRACT, SQUALANE.

C stimulates collagen, it's cell communicative...it boosts brightness and helps improve tone while helping with discoloration; vitamin c is a powerhouse of antioxidant goodness. With daily use, Vitamin C is certainly a game changer for both anti-aging and for skin aesthetically. I was glad to see The Ordinary including some affordable C options within the line.
To be honest, I was on the fence between 3 and 4 stars, but I'm going with 3 and I'll share why:
L Ascorbic is 'the gold standard' in C skincare, and although the name sounds very Ascorbicy..they're fudging just a bit with the wording in product name..lol That's just my opinion. In the description, I do feel they accurately relate that this isn't the most effective C form they carry (or that exists in other lines). "Vitamin F" is their way of saying "Fatty Acids". Fatty acids are incredibly emollient, so that's a bonus for those with normal to dry/very dry skin. They help restore and replenish skin and it's moisture barrier. Since this is a C formulation in oil, I think a water soluble form of C may be a better choice for those with oily skin, but everyone's skin is different.
Yes, this is a C serum, but it's not the most effective C serum that's both stable and affordable on the market. For a few dollars more, you can get actual L Ascorbic with all the bonuses of added E and Ferulic Acid from Timeless Skincare in a stable, water soluble formulation. (I keep my Timeless in the fridge to extend shelf life.) so if I put it into perspective this is very nice, but not just that nice...lol
I do think that if skin is very sensitive, this can be used alternately or in conjunction with other anti-aging products and help give some much-needed C to your skincare. It's a very nice formula: it's just not excellent in my view. If you were tossing about the idea of bringing a C product into your skincare and wanted to chose one from The Ordinary, this would be the one I'd recommend.
Vitamin C is awesome for your skin. It brightens and tones it. I've been using various brands in the last few years every single morning. The problem with many of them on the market is that they are not chemically structured in a way that would be stable and thus makes it totally ineffective. My cosmetic chemist buddy has told me stabilizing vitamin c is extremely difficult and a lot of vitamin c serums out there are totally ineffective even before they bottle it. If not, it oxidizes a few days after you use it. I'm not a chemist but I definitely see a difference between using this every morning vs. not. I did a test of taking a break from it for 3 weeks once to see a difference and I noticed my skin was less bright during the day and my foundations oxidized on my skin differently. I wish I had pics to show this. I use this daily under my spf.
This very light texture helped keep my skin moisturized during cooler weather and the Vitamin C really lightened! No side effects and my acne scars started fading after 2-3 weeks. This light jojoba oil-based Vitamin C also has tomato extract which is an excellent antioxidant against sun exposure!
I've been using this formulation daily for about 5 months. It's become a must-use during my morning routine. I have dry, aging (45 years old), fair skin. I apply about a quarter of a dropper-full on top of my water-based serums, and under my moisturizer and sunscreen. If I skip a day, I feel the difference. Over 5 months I have noticed a marked improvement in my facial tone, lessening of wrinkles, and improvement in overall skin health. I take good care of my skin and have made a lot of positive changes in my skin care routine recently (thank you The Ordinary!), and this formulation of vit C is one of the many improvements I have made in the last half-year, so I can't attribute everything to this, but it's been a consistent part of my daily regimen. I need far less makeup now, and my skin is radiant and glowing. Honestly I've been doing double-takes in the mirror because I just don't believe that's me looking back - it's just that good! I highly, highly recommend. I'm on my 2nd bottle, using daily, a little goes a long way.
I was so shocked at how fast Beautylish ship my order. Then to receive it in two days wow, wow, plus a product card on how to use this beauty skin care products and along with stickers to numbers, day, night and weekly! Amazing company and skin care.
This has made my skin glow and I've had compliments on how my makeup looks but yet no one understands it's the skin care that's made it more beautiful thank you Beautylish!
I don't go crazy abouut keeping my skin fair and whitening as I did, but I've got farmer's tan on my arms after coming back from the vacation. I figured this would help and it really works!
It's been Day 5 so far. I usually apply it at night. I put 3 drops in my body oil (that's why I chose it, for its oil based property) for each arm, and I saw a noticeable change in my farmer's tan!
However, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is actually regulated for importation in Taiwan. In fact, the FDA in Taiwan only allows 3% of it. I was lucky enough to get away with it this time for having purchased only one bottle. I regret to say that I won't place an order for it again no matter how much I love it.
I adore this product. Since I've received it in the mail, have been applying morning and night. It immediately makes my skin look brightened and fresh. Not too oily - but definitely a slick texture. Don't need to much, just a couple drops throughout your face and neck. Has a nice smell and feel after application.
