Wooden Brush Holder

But now that I own it, it is so beautiful. Refined and sophisticated, very Japanese.

When I first saw it, I hesitated. I have been using two ‘chalices’ that I got from a Renaissance festival in the 80’s (yeah I’m old lol) to hold my brushes. That sounds too grand, they’re more like wine goblets, but they’re not really tall enough and the bigger brushes that are top heavy could tip out. So I’d place my brushes in them oh so carefully, and did my best to protect my investments.

I decided I need this because, basically, — I need everything from Sonia G — And I love beautiful things

The price tag is hefty, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to shell out that kind of dosh. But I trust Sonia G, and I figured that I could return it if I’m not 100% satisfied. (Thank you Beautylish!)

On to the product! It is so well made. I can’t stress enough. The design is perfect The size is perfect The craftmanship is perfection The edges are smooth and join perfectly The wood is gorgeous, perfectly finished. At the base, on the inside, it’s lined with a soft fabric that feels a little velvety. The sliders, that make it customizable, slide smoothly. Hopefully I’m making my point that is is crafted per-fect-ly.

I have the following Sonia G brushes: Eye pro set (5 brushes) Eye sky set (5 brushes) Sculpt 1 Face 1 Face 2 Sculpt 2 Sculpt 3 Builder 3 Smudger 2 Designer pro That’s 18 Sonia G brushes. Then I put my Surratt beauty brushes in there, and I have approximately 7 of those. My chikuhodo eyeshadow and my blend brush fit to. They ALL fit. Comfortably. What doesn’t fit? The Chikuhodo powder brushes with their very chunky handles. But that’s ok. This brush holder was designed for Sonia G brushes, and if you look at the picture, you can see that it can hold lots of brushes.

I can’t wait for the pro face set and the sky face set to come back into stock, as well as the inochigo. I know they will all fit!

I don’t need to use my wine goblets anymore to hold the brushes, and when I bring my makeup kit to the bathroom in the morning to do my makeup, I bring the Sonia G holder and ALL my favorite brushes are there at my fingertips.

So, after all that, I was surprised to learn 2 features that have made me glad I bought it: #1, that even the chubby handled brushes, like the sculpt 1 fit perfectly, and #2 that I’m able to easily carry around all of my Sonia G and Surratt brushes together so I have more choice when I’m doing my makeup.

And if I’m being perfectly honest, my favorite part of doing my makeup, is that I get to use my Japanese brushes.

As with all Sonia G products I knew it will be another excellent hand made product. If you've known her from her objective detailed reviews on brushes, you'd know she is very particular to material selection and craftsmanship. I had to have 2 and they both show the beauty of a handmade product, they're different and beautiful and at the same time both work perfectly as expected. The wood is so smooth I can't stop touching it. The perfect sliders create the spaces as I need them to work. Now I can have all brush editions at my fingertips, without wasting time. I can easily reach to the brush I want and I know its there, if not, then the double should be waiting on the clean brushes box. BTW as I mentioned that Sonia gives a deep thought to everything, it was a deep joy to read the box that holds the brush holder is made of recycled paper cranes taken from the special site in Hiroshima.

I knew I had to have this brush holder as I have all Sonia G’s brushes. My only regret is that I couldn’t get 2 of them. All the face brushes fit in there beautifully without looking overcrowded. I have a separate holder for the eye brushes for now. I hope to get another holder when it’s restocked.

It’s truly a work of art. Simple and clean lines which I love, material is top notch and so is the craftsmanship. It’s feels like it will last generations. Another big win for Sonia. I trust her designs and taste. I will always be a fan and supporter of her products because she is the BEST!!

Every detail is beautiful. Presentation matters considerably more at this price point for an item that can’t be worn. That being said - the craftsmanship is impeccable. From the feel and smell of the wood, to the rose gold nails that sit flush with the holder. I almost bought two to hold my full Sonia G. Brush line and the eye brushes that I’ve purchased duplicates of. I may grab another when it’s back in stock so all my Sonia G. brushes have space. Love it!

Not going to lie it’s definitely pricy and much smaller than I imagined but man do I love it. It holds all of my Sonia g brushes and I have a lot of them, they are organized, visible and usable unlike the two previous holders I was trying to use. You won’t regret getting it, I’m tempted to get a second one when they return.

I have been waiting for this .... and only this..... After spending so much on other items for them not to be even a little ok, and then........Sleek Lines, sophistication, and compact all in one! I got two and so did my friend and now we wait for only the Sky Face set!!!!!!

For the record, I am not any sort of makeup brush connoisseur or collector. My bathroom has limited exposed shelf space (no medicine cabinet) and storage, and I was getting tired of knocking stuff over every time I fished for a brush jammed into old candle jars. I needed something that would be slim enough to fit my shelf, store all of my brushes in one place, and look nice. I saw the Sonia G. Brush Holder when it debuted on Beautylish but balked because, ahem, the price tag. But I liked the look of it and couldn’t find anything comparable shopping elsewhere, so when it was restocked, I took the plunge. I told myself I'd return it if I found one fault, no matter how small or petty. Nope. It easily fits all of my brushes--I have about 30 total from different brands, Sonia G.'s among them--and the movable interior slats keep them organized and upright. Speaking of fit, the size of the brush holder is compact yet sturdy, and not prone to tipping over easily. The suede-like lining on the bottom interior treats your brushes like jewels, lol, which I could take or leave but it is nice to have. The materials and overall construction are top-notch, the kind of quality that feels thought through and elegant, and turns an ordinary object into something heirloom-worthy. I smile every time I see it.

I really didnt think i needed this especially with the price point. But, when i housed all my sonia g brushes ans some other fude eye brushes... I was so pleased.

For reference, i have the sky eye and face set, the pro face and eye set, the face one, base 1, sculpt 1, sculpt 3, smudger 2, and worker 1 and they all fit perfectly.. And i still have 1 slot left where i was able to place 7 more eye fude brushes :)

Im seriously thinkinh of buying 1 more, the only problem i have is all of my chikuhodo z and makie, and koyudo brushes wont fit... And that the brushes i have. It would only be able yo house my chikuhodo fo, homare (except the powder) and other fude brushes with thinner handles.

I wish Sonia would make a slightly bigger version or one without the middle divider sonwe could fit our bigger handled brushes 😊

But all in all.. I highly recommend this holder!

So I finally purchased this to help protect my investment and because it's flippin Sonia G! I am only missing the Pencil One, Face One, Face Two and Sculpt One. I have doubles of the Master Face and Soft Cheek (from the sky set), Worker Three, Builder Three, and Worker One.

I have completely filled this brush holder with all the brushes I have, except my extra Master Face, extra Soft Cheek and Worker Face (from sky face) which in total is 39 brushes. The ones with the flat end take up a good bit of space but they just look so flipping pretty in the holder. Since she's coming out with more brushes it would be safe to have two if you are going to collect her brushes.

The craftsmanship of this brush holder is amazing and you could go to TJMaxx and get holders for like $7-&10 but they won't show off the beautiful colors of the handles, they won't protect the bottom of the brushes, they don't do these pieces of art justice!!! I have some of those TJMaxx holders that look like marble and they look nice but I mean this thing blows the pants off of elegance!

I'm sure most people would find this small but just touching this you could feel the love the artist put into this piece and it's just like her brushes, an experience.

I felt the need for another one. I know it’s a luxury purchase but wow, when this one came in I knew it was the perfect addition to my collection. I like to keep my brushes very neat and clean and now they can all live together. I’m so glad I purchased this one because I have never seen a more beautiful handmade walnut container. You will not be disappointed at all. Grab this fast as they take so long to remake and restock! The dividers that are inside are moveable! Carefully slide them to achieve the size you need for a certain number of brushes. That was very important to me!
