Like a second skin
Apparently, I'm a foundation hoarder, but I didn't realize it until recently. You see, working at Beautylish HQ, questions around what our customers want/need are often asked. The questions that were raised in a meeting one day were "Why would someone need more than one foundation? Who buys new foundation when they're already happy with the one they're using?" I didn't know how to answer...DId I have a problem? Or was I just in search of what can always be better? After finally trying RCMA, I think it's the latter. Some may see it as a foundation addiction where I see it as refining one's palette (no pun intended).
I followed all the application techniques and mixed what I thought to be my (incredibly difficult to match) base which was a mix of KA-2-3, using a wet beautyblender in a spackling motion. My first thoughts were "this doesn't really have all the coverage it's hyped up to have!" It didn't feel heavy like a foundation, didn't apply streaky like a foundation and more importantly I didn't SEE it on my skin. So I applied more. I still couldn't feel nor see it and even looked at my sponge to make sure it was picking up product. Yep, the pink of the sponge was in fact covered.
The funniest thing happened minutes later, though...I have a tiny beauty mark near my chin and I noticed it was covered. Hmm...I then looked closer in natural light and all surface redness was gone, too. DUH! The reason I couldn't SEE it was because it ACTUALLY MATCHED. The reason I couldn't feel it? Because it's super lightweight and doesn't cake on. SOLD.

My first impression is that it is small. That's not entirely bad, since it fits easily in my hand as I do my makeup. Also the pans are reasonably deep and a little goes a long way with this stuff. It would be perfect for travel, but with one caveat: when this arrived the surface was cracked and pebbled because of the cold. After it warmed up the cracks disappeared as the oil melted back into the makeup. So if you do bring it with you on a plane, put it in your checked luggage to avoid this issue. I don't think it does permanent damage but it took a few hours for the palette to be a useable temperature. Pro tip from the frozen North! Otherwise I'm just learning to use this thing. The handy tutorial that was emailed to me the day after it arrived helped a bunch. The color picking advice I got from Beautylish was spot on as well. You guys continue to be so awesome. So far the best method I've found for application is to dot the foundation on with my fingers and blend with a beauty blender. The coverage is sheer, doesn't settle in pores and provided I set with powder, lasts all day. I just checked my makeup and the redness around my nose is still covered. It's been nine hours and it's still there! That's amazing. There's almost never any foundation left around my nose by lunch because I'm a face toucher. I'm always putting my palm to my face in despair at life in general. Oh, one other thing: it works as a concealer palette as well. The too light for me shades are perfect as concealer.

Yeah. I'm a foundation junkie. Teetering on the edge of 65, I NEED foundation. Sure. It's not gonna get rid of my wrinkles--only a great plastic surgeon can remendy that but I'm poor AF so I need to work with what I have. With aging comes changes in skin. Texture. Coloring. Lines. Uneven skintone. Gravity. You name it. It happens. But that doesn't mean we need to give up on ourselves. On the contrary. It helps to sleuth for that perfect product. The RMCA foundations pretty-much come into that category. Read on please... I ordered the KA palette. My skin is fair with pink undertones. I have redness but not necessarily rosaeca. Over the years my skintone has become uneven. There's an age spot or two--okay, THREE but who's counting. I got the jowls. I got the wrinkles. And yet, that doesn't stop me from still trying to look my best. The palette was intriguiging to me due to the choice of hues for my skin. I love a creamy foundation and quite frankly, a good one is difficult to track down. So I went ahead and ordered. This palette has proved to be greatess. At first, it seemed like I would most likely hit pan within a few days. That wasn't the case. A little bit of any one of the foundations in this palette goes a long way. I find it works really well with this application: Applying Embroylisse as a primer. Then a layer of Luxe Houile in the shimmer to give that extra bit of moisturizing and a bit of a dewy sheen. After giving it a few moments to soak in, I apply the RCMA foundation with a Real Techniques 01413 brush (at 3.99 it is the best blending brush ever). I stiple it on then blend in a circular motion. Then pat a damp-to-almost-dry blending brush over the foundation. Trust me, on a wrinkled old-lady face, this is epic. My only complaint is that I wish cosmetics companies would recognize the mature woman. We depend on this stuff to make us look better. To make our skin look more youthful. More hydrated. It's sad that we are ignored but trust me, this is great, great foundation!

When I first purchased this pallet, I had mixed feelings about it. I loved everything the company stood for and the odorless formula, but I guess I didn't love it at first because I didn't apply it correctly. I soon realized that this wasn't your traditional foundation. Reason being, it's virtually invisible when applying it and that threw me off. I initially tried applying this with a beauty blender and later realized that it didn't apply well because a dampened beauty blender has to be wet and this product is wax based. Water and oil don't mix! I started messing around with the application process and found that using a small synthetic brush works best. You don't need much of this product as it's highly pigmented.

I first heard about this product on Wayne Goss' YouTube channel, he is a makeup god so it intrigued me. After hearing more about it I had to give it a try. With the help of Beautylish articles I found my correct shade and ordered. I am a light medium shade. For the price you pay you get an awesome amount. It has great coverage for a small amount so it is well worth the money. It does not look like "cake" on my skin so that is really lovely. I have bad acne so finding a foundation with good coverage but not caked is hard. I also love that with the pallets you get a variety of shades. This is awesome for me because I tan very easily. I can just use this one pallet all summer long!!! Anyway long story short if you are thinking about ordering this, GET IT!

I seem to have tried every foundation and concealer combination in my quest for makeup that's full coverage yet skin-like. I'd just about given up until I decided to give this - yes, yet another! - a go. And I'm thrilled I did. FINALLY, a foundation that covers everything without looking cakey, virtually undetectable in person and photographs beautifully. I was initially worried about using a creamy waxy product on my oily combination skin but it blends like a dream, sets to a semi-matte finish that lasts for hours when set with a finishing powder and it feels like I'm not wearing any makeup. If you're an NC25 and up, you need the Shinto paIette. It has simplified my makeup routine and helped me reclaim my bathroom now that I no longer need a department store's worth of foundations and concealers. I'm also madly in love with the RCMA contour palette which doubles as an eye makeup palette too. And may I also add a huge thumbs-up to the Beautylish team for their amazing service - you guys are the BEST!!!

I maybe be exaggerating but this palette has become a staple in my makeup repertoire for many reasons! I have really dry skin but the product is light and creamy but still does a great job of concealing and blurring pigmentation and dark undereyes. I got the KO pallette and have eventually just left it in my purse cause its so compact, great for touch ups, and great when traveling! I also tend to like very natual makeup so I even use the lightest color and darkest color to contour with my fingers when I am on the go and do not have any brushes with me!
