How to Use

Overall I've found these $65 midi sized ND palettes to have the best, most consistent quality. Retro stands out a bit above the rest in quality, as well as having a really lovely selection of burgundy & mauve shades and textures. I'm a particular fan of the creamy matte formula (I know some people hate it) and two of my favorite shades happen to be that formula. I'm 41 so my lids have texture, they're also partially hooded and very oily, but the creamy matte formula goes on smooth and opaque and blends out seamlessly. I haven't had any issues with the regular matte shades or in combining the two. The only issue I've had with this palette is the same one I have with almost every sparkly shadow formula. Staying power just isn't there without a glitter primer, but glitter primers all work by remaining sticky, which means they shift and crease as soon as oil from your skin joins the party. I can say that when I use the sparkly shades over a creamy matte, when the sparkles wear off that matte shade below is still going strong and I have a perfectly good all matte eye look remaining. I can also keep the glitter shadows on with duraline when I feel like going the extra mile, and the ones in this palette are beautiful. It's good enough that I'm planning to dye my flame orange ombré to pink with black cherry streaks in a few weeks.

I have quite a few Natasha Denona palettes but this one is quickly becoming a favorite. The mauve and pink colors pop with my blue eyes and the cream to powder formula is one of my favorites of hers. These blend very easily and they look so pretty on my more mature eyelids. They are lovely, pigmented and just what I would expect from Natasha. I am very pleased with my purchase.
