Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette

Please use the product before reviewing! This includes reviews in anticipation and reviews from swatches! When I first swatched this palette I was on the fence. The texture is, for lack of a better word, weird. I honestly don't know how to describe it but it's definitely not "buttery". The finger swatches, especially the mattes, are also a little streaky. So I was super disappointed at first. Just wait and use your brushes and actually apply the product!! It is so nice! I was amazed at how different it applied compared to just swatching with my fingers. The color payoff is excellent so don't overload the brush. I'm very pleased and excited to play with it some more! Also, I have to give Beautylish some praise! My first palette arrived with one broken pan. They got another out asap. They have such amazing customer service! Thanks so much!!

I really kind of want to give this 3.75 stars based on my initial reaction. I bought this entire palette because I wanted the shade Androgyny. I received my palette today and was rather surprised when I swatched each pan. What is good is REALLY good. What is "bad" is really mediocre.

PROS: Pan size is much larger than most conventional palettes. The packaging is beautiful and the mirror is fantastic! The shimmer shades are richly pigmented and GORGEOUS! Deja Vu and Fetish are to die for. Charm, the orange shade on the top row, middle, is the lone really outstanding matte.

CONS: The mattes are not near as good as some mattes I have from other companies. The two matte browns in particular are REALLY disappointing. Poison, the teal-blue green, is almost what I would describe as muddy.

I'm on the fence with the shades Androgyny and Military. I need to play with both using a primer and a good brush, not just doing a finger swipe, before I pass a final judgement.

Each swatch on my arm is at least two swipes, with no primer. Safe Word, Dominatrix, Poison and Swallow were all 3 swipes.

I bought this palette the day that it was released! I am a Jeffree Star Cosmetic junkie to be honest.. I was so excited to receive and when that package finally arrived on Tuesday I couldn't wait to get off the phone with the customer I was helping and open my package! To my surprise the burgandy shade "Fetish" was broken! I called Beautylish customer service line and they immediately helped me and replaced my palette!

Now let's talk about the product itself.. I don't have the Beauty Killer palette I was very iffy about the colors but again being a JSC junkie and LOVING my Androgyny liquid lipstick I decided to give this palette a try.. Well I am NOT disappointed.. I have been using this on my lids ever single day! the colors are very easy to work with.. very easy to blend.. they are creamy and if you finger swatch them the dark blue and green don't have much of a color pay off but rest assured on the lids it's a whole different story! I really love my palette, seems like this will be my favorie for a long time!

I am SO disappointed in this product. My "Swallow" pan arrived broken, and I know several others who had the same thing happen so I think it's an issue on the manufacturers end. When I opened the palette the broken shadow spilled all over my floor and hands, staining both of them. It took nail polish remover to get it off my hands. On top of all that, the magnets that are supposed to hold the palette shut DONT WORK. Lucky for me Beautylish has amazing customer service and has rectified the situation with a refund.

This is a note for Jeffree Star, I have always heard of mixed reviews about his brand but i personally love his Work on youtube,this is my first purchase of his brand and i promise there will be many more,Androgyny palette is not only designed to sell in the market to grab money,I can see the effort and coordination of the colors so unique that can come out of a Person with 'CLASS', Love u Jeffree Star,thank U again for giving us more than what we paid for,keep ur pallettes releasing quiet often,Blessed Be.

The packaging is totally awesome! And I can tell this is definitely the most beautiful palette I ever had..Unfornately I get this palette with cracked blue color so it kind of broke my heart ..that's why I'm giving it two stars

I was waiting for fedex to come, and it came like 5 minutes after i left home. i was dying to see it and when i open it, i cannot even swatch it cuz it was so beautiful.. swatches, shade, cover, everything is just a bomb. fast delivery, love the packaging and free shipping. willing to purchase from beautylish again.

I have heard that there can be big differences in quality from one palette to another before. I have never understood this, because in a controlled lab setting, everything should be completely uniform. That being said, i have been reading the reviews posted here, and it's either, "holy shit this palette is amazing in every way!" Or "overhyped, no pigmentation, crazy fallout". I would fall into the latter group. The mattes are anything but buttery. They are hard, streaky, any pigmentation that I can pull off gets dusted all over my cheekbones as fallout. What remains is a streaky wash of color. I've tried everything. Frosting and Deja Vu are great, they are the metallic shades. Fetish and Charm are slightly shimmery, but have the same issues as the mattes. What I find to be the most irritating, is the shade Androgyny, for which the palette is named, is the worst shade of all!!!! I just can't see a way that those who had positive feedback received a palette anything like the one that I did? This is without a doubt the worst preforming eyeshadow I have ever bought. And I swear, I am easy to please!!!!

Now the palette. First glance the colors are beautiful. Fingers swatches nice. Brush swatches are not very good. However that doesn't matter much as it is not the same as putting it on your eyelids.

The shimmer shades are a decent formula. Pretty well pigmented but had a fair amount of fallout. Sort of reminds me of his highlighters. The mattes on the other hand were a muddy mess. Just like my issue with beautykiller. No matter what look I tried it looked nasty when I was done. Most shades in this palette are very easily duped. I was actually able to dupe every single color in the pan except for military and fetish. I couldn't get an exact match for fetish but found a few that are very close. Overall, I don't feel like this palette is worth the price at all. There are many other brands with there overall better, consistent quality. I doubt I'll ever reach for this again. It really bothers me when brands are overhyped like this was.
