Very Nice Foundation
I was very leery about buying this foundation because of all the negative reviews with people who dry skin. My skin is VERY dry. For reference I have very fair, dry, mature skin, redness on my cheeks and chin, fine lines, creapy under eyes and dry flaky patches. At first I used a beauty sponge and was going to return the foundation. This is what I used and did to give it a fair shot. I exfoliated and moisturized, which I do anyways. Then I used my smashbox oil primer. I color correct with soap and glory color corrector for my redness. Then I applied the foundation with a brush in small sections and this made a HUGE difference. I also contour with wet n wild stick, conceale with Charlotte Tillbury magic concealer, Jane Iredale blush and a tiny amount of rcma translucent powder around my nose. I didn't use a highlighter. I lightly set with Mario Badescu (spelling probably incorrect). This foundation stayed in place all day. On my skin it performs the same as my Lancome 24 hr foundation. It didn't feel heavy or drying, it didn't settle into my lines or accentuate my dry patches. And my skin is very dry. I mean I obviously have dry patches and lines but it didn't make them worse. I definitely will be keeping it. And I think it's appropriate for everyday. It's definitely full coverage for me, and gives me a mat finish.

First off beige is very yellow and darker than I expected. This is VERY full coverage. I bet oily skin will enjoy it but unfortunately I cannot get it to not look cakey and accentuate all my pores on my dry/normal skin. I love Hourglass and I bet this will work for a lot of people just not me.

Honestly shocked at some of the negative reviews on this foundation. I have dry! skin and I’ve been using this for about 3 weeks now. I’ve put it on in the car with my fingers and also with a number of different brushes and (I prefer the brush), I love the finish and haven’t had any cakiness or other issues...unless I use too much. You need so little and a loose flexible brush really does work best. Also, it hasn’t broken me out or aggravated my skin even though I accidentally fell asleep with it on while putting my kids to sleep. Btw, my face still looked good when I woke up. I have a ton of foundations but I don’t thjnk I need to stray any further because this is HG status for me right now.

I bought the No2 brush to apply and it was PERFECT! Goes on beautifully, stays all day without touch-up. A beautiful, smooth finish with not much effort. I would recommend this for everyone HOWEVER.... be aware that the colour selection is very difficult and I made a mistake, I wanted a slight hint of yellow to counter my pinky skin so I got BUFF - I should have tried a neutral or maybe cool tone as I look jaundiced. Hourglass needs to do something different in this area otherwise, perfect foundation...

I have NW10 skin, and I found this foundation to be a full shade too fair for me. This is very high coverage, and felt heavy on the skin, even when mixed with a moisturizer to thin it out. Not sure how it wears throughout the day, as it was not a color match.

This is my newest obsession. I have normal to dry skin, not a ton of texture, but definitely have a breakout somewhere on my face consistently (usually hormonal). I’ve been looking for a new foundation for about a year and haven’t really been able to find anything that I love - that is until this beauty came to be.
The finish is very natural and allows for a beautiful full coverage. Less is definitely more - I cannot stress this enough. Begin with a half pump (plenty for a full face) and build the coverage in any problem areas. I personally use a Beauty Blender for application and find that it’s a super smooth, quick and easy application. That said, I found it’s really easy to use too much, so don’t be afraid to start small and build up. I’ve worn this for 8+ hours and still feel like there’s no creasing and the coverage lasts and doesn’t separate!
As is, I feel common with Hourglasses foundations, these shades do run on the warmer end of the spectrum, so keep that in mind when choosing a shade.
Try this beauty out!!

i'm using medium warm 53 for kvd foundation. When it ran out at all sephora, i was devastated. I bought this feeling half hearted cause i need one good full coverage. When it arrives i immediately tried it, sure its perhaps more yellower and brighter then medium warm 53 and it was very runny. I was fearful. Haha. But when i put it on, damnn, it blended seamlessly, like really. My acne scars covered, my pores covered. Damn it stayed on for 9 hours at least. Btw i pair it with laura mercier translucent powder and the ordinary primer, applied with finger. Remember one small pump goes a long way

First of all, be warned if you have dry skin, this foundation really works best for those with oilier skin. Secondly, as many have said before, this is a very full coverage foundation. A pea size amount of this foundation is all you will need to cover your entire face. Starting out with a small amount, working in sections, and moisturizing your skin before applying will all help. I found that applying this with a brush ended up highlighting dry areas. I ended up figuring out that applying this with a lightly damp beauty blender or makeup sponge was the way to go. The best way to use the foundation was by dabbing it on with little "bounces" one area at a time was the only way I could apply this without accentuating dry areas. I do like that this is fragrance free, but I found this to be a very fussy foundation. My video review and application tips can be seen here- https://youtu.be/Ry3vyvI6WOA

While the shade was pretty much spot on for me and I feel like you truly only need 1 pump to do your entire face...I felt like this foundation looked horrible on me. It magnified my blemishes and any bit of texture on my skin, it looked cakey and made my skin look dry in certain places. I do not have dry skin and is more combo. I have used it both with the Vanish Foundation brush and a Beauty Blender and neither made a difference. It makes me sad because I really wanted to love this foundation but unfortunately I am going to have to return it; especially at this price point. :(
