Great for liquid foundations
I know the GSN-2 is marketed as powder brush, but it does a fantastic job with liquid foundations as well! The dense brush head buffs foundation right into the skin without soaking up too much product or leaving streaks, plus the softness makes it super gentle.

I received this yesterday and I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing but as I was talking with my roommate, my hand must have grabbed this brush and I ended up using it. At first, I was thinking "my goodness what is so soft?" Then I happened to go out with my roommate and she pointed out how soft and flawless my face looked. It was weird because she sees me everyday and not once did she say anything about my skin. When I came back home, I realized I had used my brand new GSN-2 and I picked it up to use it again.
"What in the world was that?" Was the first thought that went through my head. This brush is so ridiculously soft that it makes you feel like you're dreaming! My large pores and acne scars were covered so well and my liquid foundation didn't budge as I kept sweeping this brush over and over my face. I thought I was head over heels with my Wayne Goss brushes, but now this brush has completely stolen my heart as well.
In fact, after I post this review, I'll be buying my second GSN-2!!

I got whole z series and takumi123 and gsn2. The Gsn design looks cheesy to me when I saw the picture. But actually Gsn is beautiful. A Japanese will never make their things ugly. As a tool to use honestly gsn series is the most practical and economical choice. you feel that it is really a brush for makeup! especially for a western style. Takumi is more for eastern look . It's hard to say actually. obviously the Z series is the best quality that make me enjoy everyday. As I don't really care about the cost, I would definitely use Z. But gsn is more practical to use. a good brush need to think about if it is suitable for the products. If u think about money and want an outstanding performance, i would definitely reccomend gsn. If you prefer a clear and simple looking, go for Takumi. If all of your cosmetics are top brand at least tomford, then the Z will work best
dont take a risk of your money on other brands. I m so regret of having tom ford brushes a few days ago. that cost me nearly 500£<750$>.they turn out to be a total waste due to the poor quality and design. They are good hair, but poor brushes.

I use this to buff my powder foundation and oh my no irritation and very soft but densely pack. I own a lot of brushes from Tom Ford, Tilbury, Mac, Morphe, Sigma, Bobbi, Wayne and this particular Chikuhodo won my heart. It's how it's shape and made.

This is my first-ever Chikuhodo brush and I use this brush to apply Chanel Double Perfection Lumiere powder foundation (I personally tend to skip liquid foundation since my face tends to become oilier as the day progresses). This brush is perfectly dense and not too big and fluffy, picking up a good amount of product that allows me to build-up with ease for fuller coverage in certain areas of my face. Previously, I've used the sponge that came with the Chanel Double Perfection Lumiere compact, then I "upgraded" to the Chanel powder brush #1. I was not too pleased with that brush (which is more expensive than the Chikuhodo GSN-2) since the bristles are synthetic and absorbed so much product! However the Chikuhodo GSN-2 powder brush is absolutely wonderful and gives me full control of applying flawless powder foundation that lasts all day. The results are wonderful for my oily face that I only need a few touch-ups throughout the day. I absolutely love this brush so much that I've purchased more brushes from the Chikuhodo GSN line along with a few from the Chikuhodo Z and Takumi series. The GSN brushes tend to be my favorite since they have the perfect variety, the right amount of softness, great density and good length compared to the other Chikuhodo brush series. I am so happy with Chikuhodo's brushes that I look forward to my daily makeup routine! Thanks again, Beautylish!

If you haven't try'd this brush for foundation wither it be liquid powder or cream hands down FLAWLESS application I will be ordering 2 more. Whether you have a full face or a small dace this brush will cut you foundation routine in half. Its so darn soft you will be buffing and buffing just cause its so soft its like putting on foundation with a cotton ball. THIS BRUSH IS WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT

I don't know WHY I took so long to buy this brush. The shape, density is seriously amazing and does a great job at blending out your foundation and then your powders. I use this right after I apply my setting powders to buff out lines and just create a skin like finish. I then use it again after my bronzers, blushes and highlighter so that my makeup looks cohesive. The GSN line is actually my fave line from Chikuhodo despite the Z-Series being "softer". I prefer the pickup and deposit ratio of goat hair & goat hair blends.

Have been on the hunt for the perfect foundation brush. I have a collection of "good enough" to almost perfect brushes, but saw a Beautylish review saying the Chikuhodo GSN-2 was great as a liquid foundation brush, even though not intended to be used that way. It is superb as a foundation brush -- application is flawless, even and perfect -- no shedding from this densely packed brush. What is equally amazing is the fact that the brush does not appear to collect or absorb much product. I've been using the Artis Fluenta oval brush (6 and 8) to apply foundation, but the Chikuhodo GSN-2 surpasses the Artis brushes in applying foundation. I'm already planning to purchase a back up. If you're looking for a flawless foundation brush, this is the one!

Love how soft this brush feels. It buffs my powder foundation beautiful and evenly. The handle is so different and light. Chikuhodo has won my heart. I was feeling why would I spend so much but now I know why. If you have sensitive skin and the other brushes feels harsh on your skin you have to get this. You can use it on liquid foundations also. I own a few pieces and none has disappoint me. Can not wait for more beautiful pieces to come.

This brush is super dense and packed with hair. It picks up a lot of color from your powder (loose or packed) and application is smooth, easy, and flawless! The goat hairs are not abrasive at all, which is great if you intend to use it a lot.
