I ADORE CT products, and this palette is no exception. The 'Enhance' shade in this palette looks practically wet and is also gorgeous when applied! The 'Smoke' shade does stain my eyelids if I don't use a thicker primer, (my eyelids are prone to staining, so just be warned.) I HAVE to use my fingertips with this formula unless I'm trying to diffuse the shadow or cover my face in glitter. I know Temptalia suggests a dampened brush but with my past CT quads I have experienced hard pan after doing that. The 'Prime' shade has a duo-chrome shift to it with a light purple but it was difficult to photograph.
I have finger swatched and swatched with a dense, flat, synthetic brush. Clearly don't use a brush.
Long review short, if you don't have many metallic shades and you don't mind working with your hands this is worth the splurge. If you're drawn to only one shade, buy a single and find a dupe!
So, almost 4 stars. I don’t dislike this quad, but I don’t reach for it very often as it doesn’t quite offer the “wet look” I was going for. It’s still pretty and I didn’t return it... so there’s that. The shadows do feel a bit dry, and I recommend using a glitter primer or tacky base of some sort. I also find that they apply best using the finger to press into place on the lids.
The palette is good but not outstanding. Expected more of a pop! I’m glad I bought the palette. Got it on sale! It’s worth the sale price. I would’ve been mad if I bought it full price.
It does look beautiful on the eyes. I used it with my larger pillow talk palette and they work beautifully together!
This product is toted as being a luxurious brand, so I was expecting a soft and buttery eyeshadow that would make for gorgeous blending. Instead there is very little color unless you really dig hard into the palette. The glitter is just a touch and not as shimmery as the commercial makes you think it has. And the color it leaves behind is not very true to what you see in the pan.
